SUMMARY:Ag Tech in Action: Twilight demo of innovation in veg production
DESCRIPTION:Join VegNET Tasmania at this twilight event that will bring together growers\, agronomists and service providers to hear about some ag tech suitable for vegetable production. \nThis includes a drone spraying demonstration by Octodrones and discussion of applications for drones in horticultural production. As the sun starts to fall\, check out the spray coverage with UV torches on the crop and hear about the drone’s capability in comparison to a ground spray rig. \nHear from Ian Layden and Janaina Fabris from QLD Department of Primary Industries who will provide an update on the VegMech project (Advanced vegetable mechanisation program to maximise labour and cost efficiency – VG23003) and discuss what technologies are in the pipeline for vegetable production. \nCheck out a sneak peak of the Farm Droid (autonomous planter and weeder) and learnings from the trial site in northern Tasmania with James Terry with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss! \nRegister here. This event is part of the 2025 Ag Innovation Expo.
