As part of National Agriculture Day, Umberto Calvo and Ryan Hall headed out to the project’s Local Land Services demonstration farm in Richmond, NSW to host a field walk through the cover-crop and reduced-tillage trial bays. These side-by-side demonstrations are all about understanding how different levels of soil disturbance and groundcover affect soil structure, biology, and overall resilience.
In the video, Umberto takes us directly into the bays to compare how the soil is behaving under each treatment, from conventional tillage through to a modified reduced-tillage system, and from bare soil to plots where cover crops have been grown and incorporated.
