In early February, our team held a two-day planning session to outline how the Soil Wealth ICP project will continue to deliver value for vegetable and melon growers in 2025. We focused on our demonstration sites, events and training, resource development and communications activities, and took a deep dive into three focus topics to explore in Year 3 of the project. They include:
  • Crop health: Integrated pest, disease and weed management
  • Input use: Nutrient use efficiency
  • Carbon and climate: Resilient production systems.
We also visited our Skye, Victoria demonstration site at Butler Market Gardens, which is focusing on improving soil health and structure through smart nutrient management. It included a team workshop on testing labile soil carbon and soil microbiology levels. Check out our video which captures the highlights.
